StreamCity supported the YWCA and the Coalition of Child Care Advocates of BC in co-hosting a press conference to relaunch the $10aDay Child Care campaign, calling on the provincial government to fulfill its promise of universal, affordable child care. With new advocacy tools unveiled and a message that needed to reach both in-room guests and digital audiences, StreamCity delivered a full AV package — including a multi-camera livestream, a press-ready recording, and interactive Q&A for remote engagement.
The Challenge
This wasn’t just a press event — it was a strategic advocacy moment. The client needed to reach in-person guests, press, and the public, all within a tight timeline and venue setup.
Key needs included:
• A professional-quality livestream for public and press viewing.
• Press-ready HD recording with multi-camera angles.
• In-room sound and microphone management for clarity.
• Audio feeds for press/media equipment.
• A livestream Q&A capability to include remote questions in real time.
• Early load-in and fast morning setup.
To meet both the technical and advocacy needs, we deployed a custom AV solution focused on reach, clarity, and content delivery.
What we provided:
Beyond the livestream, we delivered a high-quality multi-camera recording, captured directly from our switcher to SSD drives.
This gave YWCA and their partners:
• A press-ready file for immediate media outreach
• Content for newsletters, social media, and stakeholder reports
• Long-term use across digital campaigns and awareness materials
In fast-moving advocacy campaigns, having a polished video asset ready within hours is a major advantage.
To make the event more accessible and participatory, we integrated a Q&A function into the livestream. Remote viewers were able to submit questions, which were reviewed and selected for response by in-room speakers.
This helped:
• Extend participation beyond those in the room
• Include regional and provincial voices in the conversation
• Reinforce the campaign’s message of inclusive, province-wide access
StreamCity managed the technical routing and timing of remote Q&A so the in-room experience remained smooth.

• Internet: Hardwired with pre-event venue IT coordination
• Backups: Spare wireless + handheld mics, analog amp inputs tested
• Livestream completed without interruption or sync issues
• Audio was clean and clear for all speakers and Q&A
• HD multi-cam recording delivered to the client same day
• Livestream Q&A gave the event added reach and relevance
• Press had access to clean sound via the Exo-Pod splitter
• Live + recorded = full value. This event worked because we planned for both live impact and long-term distribution.
• Remote Q&A is worth it. Including public voices deepens engagement and makes advocacy campaigns stronger.
• Load in early, go live stress-free. Day-before prep saved time and reduced pressure.
